Spring is Here!

Happy almost April to all of our friends and family! I, as usual, haven't updated everyone in a while and figured it was past due. Our Jack turned 1 on 1/8/14, and celebrated his 1 year "coming home" from the hospital on 2/22/14.  Since we last updated...so much has happened! The biggest thing?

Jack Jack has begun to walk! And run, and climb...It was amazing to watch him start off, and now I can't seem to get him to sit down! It is such a blessing!!!  He has been walking for a month now, and we had our follow-up with Dr. Knapp on 3/24/14. Dr. Knapp said that the hips look good right now, the left is still more developed than the right, and the socket isn't as rounded, however there isn't anything we need to get done now. He didn't promise that we had nothing to worry about, but that we "may" need to get something done in the future. "I don't know what, but we will be monitoring very closely."  Ok, I will take it.  We will be following up again with Dr. Knapp and his crew at the end of September.
We got the opportunity to spend some time with quite a few of our loved ones the last three months including Jack's Aunt "Dizzy," who came to not only celebrate Jack's 1st Birthday, but also to come back a few weeks later and spend a month with us to help out during a tough time.  It has been so wonderful to watch their relationship grow, and not to mention having someone from my family so close makes me miss home.

Also, Jack's friend, Meghan came to hang out with her grandma (Aunt Pat) and so we were able to go to Animal Kingdom with them during that visit. Jack and Megs loved the animals, and thanks to a few good friends, they made the visit for us that much more special. (Thanks April, Rafa, Sarah, and Louis!) It was great to get the opportunity to hang with Bonnie, Pat, and Megs.

Of course we always get to hang out with Grandma Stevie, as our usual gift, I treated Grandma Stevie, Jack, and JR to Bay Hill (Arnold Palmer Invitational) which benefits the Arnold Palmer Hospital. Jack did great! He wanted to walk the whole time, and there were so many things to look at. He met new people, and got to see a real golf tournament. We look forward to adding Jack to this annual outing for the family!

Uncle Donnie, Felicia, Bella, and Gabby also came to visit us this month. It was good to see the girls, and how big they are getting!  We always enjoy getting to spend a little time with them.

A sad, yet needed development is that we are switching daycares, so we had to say good-bye to our current one and enroll in a daycare closer to home. Jack isn't tolerating the trips in the car anymore now that he is walking everywhere. It has forced us to start bringing our daily lives closer to home. Which isn't a bad thing. So too our daycare provider, we love you! Thank you so much for all the amazing things you did for us during this year and making it so much easier on me when I went back to work. We look forward to seeing you at non-work related activities :) XOXO
Jack starts his new day care this coming Monday for a half day, then the rest of the week full time.  It's literally 5 minutes from the house. It's going to be a rough transition for him, but he will do great.

I guess that is all the news,  we continue to thank all of you who take care of us, and keep up with us. We are loving our life with the little man, and are just slow to adjust to keeping up with him. We see a lot of great things in our future!

Love, Kat, JR, and Jack Jack
