Marvelous Monday

Happy going home week!

Hello friends and family! We are at 6 days and counting if they make us stay until Saturday. Jack and I are rested and he is still sleeping as I write this! We still had swelling this morning but not as bad as the evenings. Dr Crawford was back and both she and Dr. Knapp think it is him growing into the cast and positioning. If they need to recast they will before we leave. If not when we follow up we will get recasted or removed. Temp is good this morning. Once last night he was at 99. They also weighed him last night, with the cast he was 10lbs, 4 oz! Big boy!!! They drew his blood for Monday labs. Dr. Jordan from ID came by. The red and white blood counts are back to normal despite the antibiotics (yay), the sed rate is normal, the CRP did not change. Still a go to get our last dose of antibiotics on Friday! He said we will have to follow up in two weeks, if clinically he looks good then they will follow up in a few months. Apparently it's easy to rebound with GBS. So we will follow up with ID and Ortho pretty regularly.

Poor Jack has a little bout of diaper rash on top of everything. Will have to discuss it with ID and ortho probably the antibiotics giving him diarrhea and causing the rash. Cause this kid does not allow himself to sit long in a dirty diaper he lets us know immediately! It's the one cry I have down.
They are also checking with general surgery to get the removal of the Broviac scheduled, and nursing is coming by today to fit our little man for his special rental car seat.
