Happy Birthday (yesterday) to Jack’s grandpa Lance!
Well, day after surgery and our little Jack spent most of
the day with his dad watching the Men who Built America while mom got out to
the house. I stopped by the house to pick up the girls and take them to my
mother-in-law’s for a couple weeks while we stay in the hospital. While I was
at home I caught up on our laundry and did some odds and ends while I waited
for the laundry to finish. The girls have basically been very good while we
have been away but we wanted to make sure they get some love.
Jack is doing well. His meds are on a schedule to keep him
comfortable, and we are figuring out how to hold him with his larger than life
cast on. He is eating well, both while nursing and when taking formula. A
little more spit up than usual, but he is also getting some pretty strong painkillers.
He had an ultra sound this morning; it was pretty impressive considering how
cumbersome his cast is. Kudos to the tech. Dr. Knapp let us know that the hip
is in place, and with some healing time should stay in and fingers crossed when
the bone starts to form our boy has a normal hip/leg. He had the IV on his head removed so he has nothing up there
now! Yay!!! We will get him dressed tomorrow and take a picture so everyone can see our handsome man.
Jack also got a super cool gift from his Aunt Lizzie, a
giraffe from Build-a-bear with his name and WSU cougar symbol on the t-shirt.
Again, when I can tomorrow, I will take pictures so you can see it.
Special shout out too: Jeff and Carrie, Magoo, and Crystal.
I heard you’re reading and sending prayers to our Jack. Thank you for taking
the time to do that. We are so lucky to have such amazing extended families. J
