Happy Weekend to you all! Baby Jack and I had a good day.
Unfortunately it started out early this AM with mom getting smart with a poor CNA
who was just trying to do her job. Jack had awaken and had finally had a BM on
mom as well as himself, with it inching closely to his wound that is now
uncovered. He was crying, poor JR sleeping in the same room, and both the nurse
and the CNA come in with vitals to be taken, and questions about his
intake/output. Meanwhile, my shirt is off, and I am dealing with the above, the
answer to, “Do you need anything else mommy,” was, a sharp, and rude, “I just
need you guys to give me a minute.” Ouch. I felt so guilty about it all day. I
am not one to snap at people trying to help me. JR said, we gotta get you out
of this room. Which I will be doing soon.
The ortho doctors came around later in the morning, as it is
the weekend, we had Dr. Crawford, and Dr. Herrera who is a hip specialist and
was in Jack’s surgery last week. They decided to change the brace he was in,
and Dr. Crawford removed Jack’s sutures (stitches). No surgery right now, the hip is just out of place still (it
won’t go back in completely for a few months) but it wasn’t making its way towards
the socket so they wanted to change the brace. The ID docs didn’t come in
today, labs were all normal and he didn’t run a fever at all today. The brace lady came mid-day, they put on
a Plavik Harness, so now my baby is my little frog prince. He has to keep his
hips at that angle. He seemed a little frustrated with it at first, but now
seems more comfortable with it on.
