Happy 3rd Anniversary

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Today is JR and my 3rd wedding anniversary, and despite being in the hospital we are celebrating as usual, just without the fancy dinner and with the addition of one cute little baby. At the end of March, we will have been together for a decade. Insane. Time goes by fast.

Doctor Update: Dr. Crawford and Dr. Knapp came in today. Said they are going to continue to follow the blood work, and temperatures as well as consult with ID for Jack’s course. They may have to take the cast off and reexamine the hip again if he continues to have these low-grade fevers and upward trending lab work.  Dr. Layman, came in with his very young residents, and basically said the same thing. He is happy with the antibiotics but would like to see that blood work trending down, so if he continues to have low-grade fevers, he will repeat the blood work prior to Monday.  Other than that, all is boring with the medical updates.

Jack is going through a growth spurt, and he is eating NON-STOP, which means he is going to the bathroom NON-STOP but on the up side of that…he is gaining weight, and if that is considered a “problem,” I will take it!  He is starting to fill out his chunky cheeks, and growing out of that newborn look. He is so handsome. Today he wore his gift from Ashley, a doctor onesie. Which is super adorable. So of course all his girlfriends, had to get pictures. The nurses all love him.  They also got us dessert and an anniversary card for our dinner tonight. How sweet is that? I guess when you spend 2.5 weeks with a group of people you are bound to get attached. Jack and I got to go outside 3 times today, for an hour each.  He slept all three hours!

JR and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at APH. JR brought us dinner from Old Hickory, and I got a beautiful bag from Fendi for our BIG NIGHT OUT dinner in June. I bought JR a pair of his favorite shoes, and two belts. Leather is the traditional gift to give on the 3rd anniversary and looks like we both stayed with tradition. Thank you for all the well wishes, gifts, and love!

Updates tomorrow…to be honest I hope it is a boring day! J

  1. I was really looking for a "Nurses Dig Me" onesie but I think the Dr one is better.
